Bolton In The Hunt For Hunt

Bolton are likely to test Reading's resolve for left winger Stephen Hunt by submitting a £1.5 million bid for the Republic of Ireland international claims a report in the Daily Express.

The 25-year old was a leading player in the Royals first season in the Premiership but he is apparently unhappy at the way in which contract talks have progressed.

Hunt, who began his career with Crystal Palace and has also played for Brentford, made the news on a national scale last Autumn following a highly contraversial challenge on Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech which left the Czech star with a fractured skull.

He scored the winning goal and put in a Man of the Match performance against Bolton when Reading ran out 3-1 winners at the Reebok Stadium at the end of April and this hasn't got unnoticed.

Trotters manager Sammy Lee has already added Aston Villa duo Jlloyd Samuel and Gavin McCann to his squad this summer and the fact that he wants to test a number of styles means that a move for Hunt could be plausable.

Also linked with a move to the Reebok is the MK Dons top goalscorer Izale McLeod. McLeod 22, hit 24 goals at the National Hockey Stadium last season but was put up for transfer yesterday by request.

In other news, Bolton skipper Kevin Nolan has denied that he is on his way out of the club. The midfielder was linked to a whole clutch of Premiership clubs in the weekend media but stated that he was happy to remain with his first club for the foreseeable future having recently agreed a new deal.
