Changes Made To Peace Cup Tournament

Bolton will now take on Spanish side Racing Santander in the Peace Cup after it was confirmed that Udinese of Italy have been taken out of the tournament due to the Serie A side having sold too many of their players leading up to the competition next month.

Udinese finished tenth in their respective league last season whilst Santander currently lie ninth in the Spanish La Liga which still has a couple of fixtures left to play.

Peace Cup director David Yoo told news source Goal that Udinese's departure from the competition was fairly straightforward and welcomed Racing's interest in the tournament which begins in mid-July.

"The reason was simple: Udinese sold too many of their players, Racing are very interested in the Korean and Asian market and have told us that they are coming here not only to win the competition but to look at promising young Korean players" said Yoo

Former Wanderers target Nikola Zigic (pictured) and one time West Ham United full back Lionel Scaloni are just two of the Santander players which Bolton could come up against next month.
