Ex-Wanderer Redfearn Takes On Northwich Role

Former Bolton midfielder Neil Redfearn is back in football management after Blue Square Premier League side Northwich Victoria announced him as the successor to Steve Burr who left the club earlier on this summer.

The 41-year old Yorkshireman spent last season playing for Bradford Park Avenue and Stocksbridge Park Steels over two decades after John McGovern had handed him his Wanderers debut as a teenager in the old Division Two league.

Redfearn (pictured during his days at Boston United), had played for twelve teams throughout his lengthy career and had previously managed Scarborough as well as held coaching roles at Halifax Town and Boston United.

Vics chairman Mike Connect and Football Consultant John Bond saw Redfearn as the ideal candidate to replace the long serving Burr at the Victoria Stadium as Vics look to improve on last season's mid table finish.
