Tigers To Battle It Out For Pedersen

Championship side Hull City have entered the race to sign former Bolton Wanderers striker Henrik Pedersen from under the noses of their divisional rivals Preston North End.

Pedersen 32, recently ended a six year stint at Bolton after failing to win a new contract under new manager Sammy Lee and he is now looking for new employers.

Initially, it looked as if the former Silkeborg man would return to his native Denmark but both Preston and Hull are interested in keeping him in England.

Hull are managed by former Wanderers coach Phil Brown and he knows all to well of Pedersen's capabilities after the pair worked together at the Reebok Stadium.

Per Frandsen, a Trotters favourite in two playing spells, now acts as a representive of Pedersen for the Denmark-based First Artist Management and he said of his ex-collegue.

"Henrik would be a great asset to whoever he plays for in the Championship because he can run all day. He's strong and quick and it would be no problem for him to play in the Championship, if that's what he decides to do.

"He's been a great servant for Bolton - he had six great years there - and he's definitely got a few more years left in him. He's only 32 and hopefully his future will become clearer this week."
