It's A Family Affair For New Boy McCann

New Wanderers signing Gavin McCann knew all about Bolton prior to signing for the club as a large number of his family are from the town and have supported the club throughout their lives.

The 29-year old agreed to move to the Reebok Stadium from Aston Villa earlier this summer and in his first interview since moving from the Midlands he states that both his father and grandfather are huge Wanderers supporters.

"My old man and granddad are from Bolton and supported the club. I didn't really follow Bolton but that's obviously changed now." said McCann who will complete his move to the club on 1st July.

McCann says that the prospect of playing in the UEFA Cup and Bolton's past tradition was a key factor in him ending his four season association with the Villans.

"They showed an interest and I thought I'd give it a go. Bolton are a great club and have been in the Premier League for six years. They also have a great history. The prospect of playing in the UEFA Cup was also a big attraction."

"It's only the first day of training so it's early days yet but I want to do as well as I can,"

Zoltan Harsanyi, Jlloyd Samuel, Gerald Cid, Blerim Dzemaili and Danny Guthrie are the Trotters other new faces in the pre-season.
