Former Singapore national coach Barry Whitbread could be about to be appointed as the new chief scout at Bolton Wanderers as Trotters manager Sammy Lee continues his extensive re-building work at the Reebok Stadium.
Lee (pictured) appointed General Manager Frank McParland and Physiotherapist Dave Galley to his backroom staff at Bolton last week and now a third person with Liverpool connections could be about to be taken on board.
Whitbread is currently an Academy Coach at Liverpool after his playing career took in spells with Altrincham, Lancaster City, Runcorn (whom he also managed) and the England Semi-Professional team.
His son Zak is on the books at Millwall having previously been a junior player at Anfield alongside the likes of current Bolton loan player Danny Guthrie and ex-Wanderer Jon Otsemobor.
Nothing has yet been confirmed by the club who have previously had the likes of Jack Chapman, Barry Simmonds and Bob Shaw scouring the globe for new talent in recent seasons.
