Wanderers Handed Trip To Capital

The draw for the third round of the Carling Cup has seen Bolton Wanderers handed a potentially difficult trip to Premiership rivals Fulham to take place at the end of September.

Bolton haven't won at Craven Cottage since November 1992 and earlier on this season they lost 2-1 to the Cottagers despite having gone in front through Fulham old boy Heidar Helguson.

The last time the two sides met in the League Cup competition was in October 1977 under contraversial circumstances. Former England World Cup captain Bobby Moore and the rest of his Fulham team mates walked off the field of play before the final whistle had sounded after Wanderers had scored a late equaliser through Mike Walsh in the game at Burnden Park.
