Bolton Wanderers favourite El-Hadji Diouf has announced his retirement from international football with Senegal after allegedly being critical of the way in which the country has handled recent administration off the field.

The 26-year old striker was apparently unhappy with the organisational skills of his country's football association when plans for a forthcoming friendly where sent into disarray.

Diouf was also said to be frustrated at some of the pre-game arrangements including the flight arrangements for when a player heads off on international duty.

"The team has a scheduled friendly match in a week and we don't even know who we are playing against. This is unacceptable." said the former Liverpool front man to the BBC

Bolton have not commented on the reports but it will come as a huge blow to Senegal if they are to lose one of their leading attackers ahead of next years African Nations Cup.

"If we have to come and play for our country, we have to pay for our own air ticket and reimbursement of the cost is another big problem, I don't think I will change my mind" he added

Meanwhile Wanderers midfielder Stelios Giannakopoulos has been recalled to the Greece squad for their Euro 2008 qualifiers against Bosnia Herzegovina and Turkey.
