Reserves Face The Black Cats

Bolton Wanderers reserves hope to get their stuttering season back on track this evening when they go to the North East to take on Sunderland where a win for the Trotters could take them level on points with the Wearsiders.

It has been a tough season so far for Jimmy Phillips Championship winning side with the club being on the wrong end of a 4-0 hammering to local rivals Wigan Athletic in the last game.

Bolton are yet to win a game in the reserve league so far this campaign and their only success has come in the Manchester Senior Cup with a 2-1 win away at Manchester City.

Their recent record against Sunderland at this level is creditable but their last meeting in Durham in March 2006 went the way of the Black Cats who ran out 2-0 winners.

Mark Ellis, Leslie Thompson, Jaroslaw Fojut and Przemyslaw Kazimierczak will all be unavailable for Bolton as they are currently plying their trade out on loan with other clubs.

Sunderland include experienced names in their line up, including goalkeeper Darren Ward, ex-Wigan Athletic striker David Connolly and full backs Greg Halford and Ian Harte.
