Boss Keen To Strengthen Wanderers Squad

Wanderers boss Gary Megson has vowed to add more faces to the Bolton squad in the January transfer window after being promised funds by chairman Phil Gartside upon his arrival at the club late last week.

Megson appreciates the quality of the players he already has at his disposal but stresses that there is not enough depth despite previous manager Sammy Lee bringing in a dozen new players over the course of the last transfer window.

The new Bolton chief wants the scouting system at the club updated so that the Trotters do not get left behind by the time the wheeling and dealing re-starts again on New Years Day.

Speaking to the official Bolton website, Megson promised to bring in new faces to compliment the already multinational squad which he inherited from Lee and Sam Allardyce previously.

"The scouting system has to be updated rapidly, so that when the window opens we know where we are going for players."

"We have a quality squad, but in terms of strength, there are not enough players. I'm not saying we will be signing loads of players, but if the opportunity comes where we can bring the right ones in then we'll do it" said Megson

Megson introduced the likes of Zoltan Gera and Tomasz Kuszczak to English Football when in charge of West Bromwich Albion and he can also use the domestic market to good effect.
