Bolton Appoint Harvey To Backroom Staff

Gary Megson has brought his first new recruit into Bolton Wanderers since taking charge at the Reebok Stadium a week ago with the experienced former Everton manager Colin Harvey taking on the role of chief scout.

The 62-year old Harvey made 320 appearances for the Toffees between 1962 and 1974 and he later managed the team in the late eighties later leading them to the 1989 FA Cup Final where they narrowly lost out to arch rivals Liverpool.

He held every role possible during his time at Goodison Park and had a brief spell as assistant manager to Graeme Sharp at Oldham Athletic in the mid-1990's.

In 2003 he retired from the coaching side of the game through injury but not before he had brought through the likes of Wayne Rooney, Tony Hibbert and Leon Osman from the Everton Academy sides.
