Bolton Wanderers full back Nicky Hunt suffered a reoccurance of the shoulder injury which has plagued him throughout his career during yesterday's 1-1 draw with West Ham United at Upton Park.

The 24-year old is likely to be out of action for a long spell after being taken to hospital during the second half of yesterday's game in East London and with fellow right back Joey O'Brien also struggling with injuries it leaves manager Gary Megson with the option of giving young James Sinclair his first appearances of the season or moving Andy O'Brien or Ivan Campo to full back.

Hunt first injured his shoulder during a reserve team game against Birmingham City in the 2002-2003 season and since then he has had a couple of similar injuries including one up at Newcastle United in 2005.

Former manager Sam Allardyce sent the Westhoughton-born star to a specialist surgeon in an attempt to cure the problem a couple of seasons ago but it seems as if Hunt's injury nightmares will continue.
