Chelsea defender Tal Ben-Haim could be set for a sensational return back to Bolton Wanderers in the January transfer window after falling out of favour with the Blues boss and fellow countryman Avram Grant in recent weeks.

The 25-year old ended his three-year stint at Bolton at the end of last season to sign a lucrative contract with the FA Cup holders and former Premiership champions but things haven't worked out since Grant replace Jose Mourinho at the Stamford Bridge helm earlier in the season.

Now a number of news sources, including the Bolton News, are suggesting that the Israel international will be open to a six month loan move back to the Reebok Stadium in January.

Bolton have been in desperate need of defensive resources since Ben-Haim and fellow defender Abdoulaye Faye departed for pastures new so it would be quite ironic should the former Maccabi Tel-Aviv player be the man to sort out Bolton's defensive troubles.
