Reserves Travel To City

Bolton Wanderers reserves go in search of their first league win this evening when they make the short journey down the motorway to take on local rivals Manchester City at the Sport City Athletics Arena.

The Wanderers have already won a reserve game away at City this season having proved victorious in a Manchester Senior Cup tie back in August so coach Jimmy Phillips will hope that Sport City continues to be a lucky ground.

This time last week Bolton lost 1-0 to Blackburn Rovers in a bad tempered game which saw Rovers reduced to ten men and Keith Treacy get the only goal of the game early on.

Recently against City the record has been good as Wanderers defeated the Mancunians on both occasions last season. Just over a year ago goals from Leslie Thompson and a Ricardo Vaz-Te penalty won the game at the County Ground and in April this year goals from senior figures Cesar Martin and Stelios Giannakopoulos gave Bolton the honours in a 2-0 success at Sport City.

Tonight Matthew Cassidy, Nathan Woolfe and Robert Sissons will resume their place in the Bolton second squad after sitting on the bench for the senior team during last week's famous win away at Red Star Belgrade.
