Allardyce Rules Out Ex-Wanderer Move

Newcastle United manager Sam Allardyce has ruled out making a move for Ipswich Town winger/forward Jonathan Walters despite the former Bolton Wanderers player reigniting his career in the second tier of English football.

Allardyce signed the 24-year old five years ago when he was the manager of Bolton but Walters made just a handful of appearances in an eighteen month spell at the Reebok Stadium.

The once capped Republic of Ireland U21 international then moved on to Hull City in 2004 and later Crewe Alexandra, Scunthorpe United, Wrexham and Chester City before finally settling down at Ipswich within the last year.

Walters has done well during his time in Suffolk and has become a valued member of Jim Magilton's team but Allardyce says he has no plans to bring his former collegue to Newcastle.

"I had Jonathan with me at Bolton Wanderers and I'm delighted that he's doing so well with Ipswich. But he's not someone I'm looking to bring here" said Allardyce to the North East media

Meanwhile Craig Allardyce, son of Sam and disgraced former football agent, has become the new manager of local Bolton side Turton FC after a break out of the game.
