Bolton Handed Spanish UEFA Test

Premiership strugglers Bolton Wanderers have been handed a difficult two legged UEFA Cup tie against Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid following the draw which was made in Switzerland earlier on this lunchtime.

The Trotters made their way into the latter stages of this competition earlier in the week without kicking a ball thanks to Bayern Munich thrashing Aris Thessaloniki and Sporting Braga defeating Red Star Belgrade in the final games of Group F.

Wanderers will be at home for the first leg against Madrid on Valentine's Day and this will be followed by a trip to the Vicente Calderon Stadium some two weeks later.

Bolton faced Atletico in a pre-season friendly three years ago and in Luis Garcia, Diego Forlan, Jose Antonio Reyes and Maniche the Spanish outfit have players with experience of English opponents.
