Nice Hopeful Of Cid Deal

Cid On Way Out Of Bolton?

French Ligue 1 side Nice are in negotiations with Bolton Wanderers regarding the transfer of Gerald Cid back to France after the former Bordeaux player failed to establish himself at the Reebok Stadium.

Cid was one of Sam Allardyce's last signings as Bolton manager when moving to the Trotters just under a year ago on a pre-contract agreement but things have not worked out for the 24-year old during his time in English football.

He started the season as a regular at the heart of the Wanderers defence but a few indifferent performances have lead to boss Gary Megson and his predassessor Sammy Lee leaving the player out of Premier League games.

Leading French newspaper L'Equipe claims Cid is already talking to Nice and is hopeful of leaving Bolton before the end of the month just six months into a four year deal.

Ironically, Nice are prepared to offer the player a three and a half deal which is the amount of time Cid has left on his current contract with the Wanderers, so it could well be that the Trotters ask nothing or next to nothing for the player they got on a Free Transfer anyway.
