Pompey Midfielder Joins Wanderers

Matt Taylor Joins Bolton

Bolton Wanderers manager Gary Megson has beaten off strong competition from a number of Premier League clubs to land Portsmouth's long serving midfielder Matthew Taylor on a three and a half year contract.

Taylor had recently lost his place to Niko Krancjar in the Pompey midfield and was eager to move away from Fratton Park in order to play regular first team football.

The 26-year old is comfortable in a number of positions down the left hand side of the field, including left back and left wing and he is not adverse to taking a shot at goal as his form for Portsmouth last season showed.

Previously with Luton Town, the former England U21 international moves to the Reebok for an undisclosed fee and teams up once again with former team mate Andy O'Brien.
