Bolton vice captain Gary Speed is amazed at how the local people of Bangkok have taken to the team ahead of the Asia Cup Semi Final clash with Manchester City.

Speed, who will captain the Wanderers side against City at the National Stadium, says that the Thai locals are excited at the prospect of seeing three top class Premier League teams take part in the tournament.

The former Welsh international says the aim for the Trotters is to do well and go on to win the trophy at the weekend. The winners of the Bolton-City match will face the winners of the Everton-Thailand side on Saturday, with the losers both taking part in a third placed Play Off game on the same day.

"There is a real sense of excitement going into this game against Manchester City. Bangkok has gone football mad and it is fantastic to see the whole city getting behind the tournament. We want to do well and try and reach the final and ultimately win the competition."
