Bolton manager Sam Allardyce is hopeful that the UK authorities will grant Lens defender Abdoulaye Diange-Faye the chance to play in England.

The 26-year old has been training with the Wanderers during their pre-season trip to Thailand, but is ineligable to take part in any of the friendlies due to the fact that he does not have the necessary paperwork.

Allardyce has been impressed with the Senegalese international in training, and is hopeful that a deal can be concluded over the next couple of weeks thus taking his signings count to four.

"Faye looks a good prospect and we've been impressed with his effort during our time in Thailand.

"We hope the work permit situation will sort itself out in the coming weeks. He will have to be given time to settle into the English lifestyle and the type of football we play here."
