Bolton assistant manager Sammy Lee has expressed a desire to eventually move into full-time management once his time at the Reebok Stadium is up.
The former Liverpool and England midfielder hopes to use his experience with Bolton to further move up the managerial ladder, a ladder which he was at the bottom of some thirteen years ago when he hung up his boots.
Upon leaving the Wanderers as a player in 1992 the likeable Scouser returned to his beloved Anfield as Reserve Team manager under Graeme Souness, and remained in that role for seven years until Gerard Houllier made him part of the first-team coaching staff.
His appointment as Phil Brown's successor in the summer has meant that he is further up the ladder, but Lee explained the ultimate ambition for him would be to be a manager in his own right.
"My ambition is to manage.I have had a lot of experience as a coach, I am gaining more experience with each job but ultimately I would like to manage.I am an ambitious person - all the time my knowledge base is broadening" he said
