Bolton manager Sam Allardyce has been heavily impressed with the attitude of South African trialist Giovanni Rector in training sessions.

The 24-year old is looking to earn a contract at the Reebok Stadium following recent spells with Manchester United feeder club FC Fortune and Excelsior Mouscron in Belgium.

Allardyce has liked what he has seen and told the official website that he is hopeful of setting up a possible deal to bring the striker to England.

"Giovanni is training with us with a view to a move,"

"He has impressed us from what we have seen this week and I am sure if a deal can be done he would be a good acquisition for us."
