Southampton's Fabrice Fernandes is the latest name to be linked with a move to Bolton Wanderers after players agent Willie McKay confirmed that he had been speaking to Sam Allardyce about the Frenchman.

The former Fulham and Glasgow Rangers winger wants to make a swift return to the top flight after being relegated with the Saints at the end of last season, so a move North to the Reebok Stadium with Bolton could prove to be an attractive option.

Fernandes is available on a Free Transfer and McKay has confirmed to Sky Sports that he has already been holding discussions with a number of clubs regarding the future of the Frenchman, including the Wanderers.

"I have spoken to a few clubs including Bolton about Fabrice,"

"Fabrice is a very good player and he good addition for any squad in The Premiership. He is available on a free transfer and he has an agreement with Rupert Lowe to let him leave and Harry Redknapp will not stand in his way if he moves on.

"Fabrice is keen to be playing in The Premiership and I have been speaking to Sam Allardyce and he is interested in him."

The link with the 25-year old comes just 24-hours after the Trotters announced that they where holding talks with Japanese superstar Hidetoshi Nakata, who is on the way out of Fiorentina.

After some earlier summer frustrations, it now seems as if Sam Allardyce is finally getting some joy in the transfer market.
