Teenage Bolton Wanderers striker Ricardo Vaz-Te has warned that he will be more than ready to step in for his more experienced team-mates should the need arise.
The 18-year old came on as a late substitute for Tal Ben-Haim during today's 1-0 defeat to Everton, and warned that he will not be making it easy on those already in the starting eleven.
"I'm still a kid and I've got a lot to learn, I respect the players who are in the starting eleven every weekend, because they are good enough, and I know I have to wait until they slip. But I'm not going to make it easy for anybody.
"I'm doing all I can to get a place in the team and get more games and more goals.
I'm never happy with what I've got. I always expect more."
Vaz-Te says that the club's summer signings do not deter him from his progression as he will continue to work hard in order of making a more regular breakthrough into the Wanderers first-team this season.
"The ones coming in have got names already. For me, they are just another challenge but it's also going to be more pressure for them that another kid is breaking through. I hope they do all right but I'll keep putting the pressure on them."
The Portuguese goalgetter made his Premiership debut in April 2004 when coming on as a substitute for Ivan Campo in the game against Middlesbrough. He has since made impressive spirodic appearances from the bench and is highly rated by everyone at the club.
