Euro 2004 star Igor Tudor is holding transfer talks with Bolton Wanderers after they agreed on a loan arrangement with Italian giants Juventus.

The giant Croatian international is prepared to leave the Stadio Del Alpi on a temporary basis to get regular first team football in time for next years World Cup Finals in Germany.

Tudor moving to England would represent yet another exciting coup by Bolton who have already persuaded the likes of Jay-Jay Okocha, Youri Djorkaeff and Fernando Hierro to join them in recent years.

Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside confirmed that lengthy discussions had taken place in recent days with the next stage of the transfer being to bring the player to the club to have a look around.

"We have agreed it with Juventus and we have been talking to the player for a couple of days. It's just a question of getting him to Bolton and telling him what Bolton is all about and if we can do that then we will have got a good signing.

"He has three years on his contract and Juventus are not keen to let him out on a permanent deal but they are quite prepared to let him out on a loan basis. We've got one or two others still on the list. We've had a good summer in terms of signings, we've managed to retain the rest of squad too, including Jay-Jay Okocha."

The 27-year old centre half spent last season out on loan with Siena after losing his long term place at Juve and has previously played for his hometown club Hadjuk Split.
