Bolton Wanderers winger Khalilou Fadiga has joined Championship side Derby County on a month's loan in a bid to regain his match fitness.
The experienced Senegalese international has yet to play in a competitive fixture this season following a knee injury sustained on the Wanderers summer tour of Asia, so a move down to Pride Park with Derby will give the player a chance to get back into first-team action.
Fadiga 30, will link up once again with Rams boss Phil Brown whom he worked under during their days together at Bolton last season and it is a move that will be beneficial to all concerned according to Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce.
"Khalilou will spend a month with Derby County and will get much needed match practice with Browny's side," said Allardyce to the official website.
"Hopefully, if all goes to plan, the formalities will be done later today in time for Derby's match against Coventry tonight."
The African moved to England just over a year ago following spells with Inter Milan and Auxerre but a combination of injury and illness has limited his Bolton career to just eight appearances.
