Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien could still be facing possible charges by the Football Association following his x-rated challenge on Bolton full back Tal Ben Haim at the weekend.

Referee Rob Styles admitted that he will be looking at a video of the first half incident in which the Blues record signing caught Ben-Haim just below the knee in a challenge which could have potentially ruined the Israelian's career.

Styles only booked Essien for the challenge but he may include a follow up report on the incident which left Bolton manager Sam Allardyce totally incensed.

"I was fairly close to the incident and had a good view. I'll have another look at the video on Tuesday." said Styles.

Bolton substitute Ricardo Gardner was later rightfully dismissed by the Hampshire official for a handball which left the Trotters chasing the game against the Premiership champions.
