Jewell Denies Goalkeeper Talk

Wigan Athletic manager Paul Jewell has dismissed speculation which links Bolton goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen with a move to the JJB Stadium.

Jaaskelainen is currently refusing to sign an extention to his current contract which ends in eighteen months time and a number of clubs are beleived to be keeping an eye on developments.

However Jewell has confirmed that the Carling Cup finalists have not held discussions with the Finnish goalkeeper despite strong speculation emerging last weekend.

"We haven't made a bid for Jaaskelainen or spoken about him." said the former Bradford City manager.
