Barclays Award For Nolan

Midfielder Kevin Nolan became the first Bolton Wanderers player to pick up the Barclays Player of the Month award in two and a half years.

The Bolton skipper was chosen by the Premier League sponsers as the best player throughout February and in turn became the first Wanderer since Jay-Jay Okocha in November 2003 to scoop the award.

Nolan scored important goals for the Trotters in their games against Arsenal and Fulham over the past four weeks and was also heavily touted for a call up to the England national team.

The 23-year old paid tribute to his team mates at the Reebok Stadium when being presented with his award by Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce.

"This is a great honour for me and the team. The players have been magnificent all season and this is just reward for the hard work the team has put in. It might have my name on the trophy, but it is the squad that has helped me win this prestigious award"
