Allardyce Eyes American Talent

Bolton manager Sam Allardyce could be about to dip into the American market after watching the USA play Germany in Dortmund last week.

Allardyce was suitably impressed with the performance of the American team and hasn't ruled out future moves for any of their players, with Kansas City Wizards striker Josh Wolff linked with a move to the Reebok Stadium just a few days ago.

"There are lots of American players wanting to get into Europe now and particularly in England and I know a little bit about some of them now, so, if these players do become available, we could make a move if the opportunity arises," said the Bolton boss.

"Of course, there are a few Americans in the Premier League already but, as a country, football is becoming extremely popular over there now and with the population they have they are producing more and more talented players.

"They were very good for 75 minutes against Germany, which shows you just how far they have come overall."

Bolton already have American youth star Johann Smith on their books and have previously brought in experienced MLS stars such as Juergen Sommer and Jeff Cassar during Allardyce's reign as manager.
