Was on the substitutes bench for Bolton's final game of the 2000-2001 season against Sheffield United along with other rookies Chris Downey and Nicky Hunt. Energetic midfielder Dootson didn't get on the pitch and later moved into local non-league football with Leigh RMI and Mossley.
