Campo Wants Wanderers Stay

Ivan Campo will hold a meeting with Bolton manager Sam Allardyce next week in an attempt to extend his stay at the Reebok Stadium.

The 32-year old Spaniard is off contract in the summer and a number of clubs in his homeland have taken a keen interest in his services most notably Real Zaragoza and former club Real Mallorca.

Campo has given the Wanderers first refusal in the contract stakes and is hopeful that his four year stint in England can be extended soon after recently breaking back into the side following a torrid time out of action with injury.

"It is not only teams in Spain that have been asking about me but others as well. They have been inquiring about my future and what my situation is. But I do not want to speak to these teams until I have talked to the manager." revealed the former Champions League winner

"Bolton is a special place for me now because of the coaches, the players and the supporters. I would like to stay as I am very happy here." he added

Allardyce and Kevin Davies have both urged Campo to commit his future to Bolton in recent weeks but all depends on how the negotiation process goes during the close season.
