Bolton Enter Milner Race

Newcastle United winger James Milner has emerged as a shock target for North West duo Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic following an impressive season on loan with Aston Villa.

Villa want to sign the England U21 star on a permanent basis but could yet find themselves competing with the Wanderers and the Latics for the signature of the £3 million rated youngster who first burst onto the scene whilst still a schoolboy at Leeds United in 2003.

Milner could also still feature in the plans of new Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder after the Magpies chief confirmed that he would assess his current squad over the summer months.
