Spanish Link Up Announced

Bolton Wanderers continue to forge healthy partnerships with teams across the globe as their latest link up was announced earlier on today..

The Spanish Segunda division outfit Elche will trade players and tactical knowledge with the Wanderers over the coming years after Bolton chief executive Simon Marland and manager Sam Allardyce held successful talks with their overseas counterparts a few months ago.

Elche president Jose Sepulcre told local newspaper Marca that the involvement of the Trotters will help his side raise their profile across the European stage.

"What we want to do is stop being a small club and we intend to open us up to Europe,The possibility to sign this agreement with Bolton will allow us to be better-known. With this agreement we will gain a lot, as it will allow us to do things that until now were not possible for a club like ours."

The Spanish press immediatly began to link Elche forward Juan Francisco Martinez with a move to the Reebok Stadium but this link has been strongly denied as sheer fabrication by Sepulcre.

Bolton already have agreements in place with Chinese team Wuhan FC and Northern Irish club Ballymena United.
