Pistone out for season?

Alessandro Pistone may be out for the majority of the season after discovering that his knee injury may be worse than first feared.

Pistone was strecthered off in Everton's 1-0 at Bolton and it was hoped that he would be back in action sooner rather than later. But after tests it has been confirmed that he has suffered from a cruciate knee ligaments for the 2nd time since signing for Everton.

This will come as a big blow for David Moyes as he is without Gary Naysmith who is still currently injured and hasnt been properly fit for the last year. Despite Matteo Ferrari on the verge of signing for Everton Moyes will now need to look for another left back whether it be a player on loan or on a permanent deal.

Moyes said 'It is a blow so we will probably need to bring in a left-back as well.'

Moyes faces a race against time to find a new left-back as the deadline for the transfer window is on Wednesday evening.
