Fans Frustration As Travel Agency Goes Bust

Fans who booked their tickets through Everton FC have been left stranded at John Lennon International Airport as the travel agency, that had booked the airtickets has gone bust in the last 48 hours.

It is reported that over 200 fans are currently stuck at JLI whilst the majority of the fans tavelling to Romania for the UEFA Cup tie, booked the tickets off their own backs.

There has been no statement made to the fans who now have to pay extra to travel if the can do so.

The agents have now been revealed as Air Scandic but Viking Air have stepped up and said that they will provide the flight but have not stated how long it will take for the plane to arrive at John Lennon although they stated it will be there this morning, its now 1.30pm and still no news of the plane.

Have now been informed recently at 2.20pm that the plane has now been cancelled and the fans will be given full refunds

Everton’s Head of Communications Ian Ross told evertonfc.com: “It is deeply regrettable that 164 of our supporters were unable to travel to Bucharest for the game.

“This was due to circumstances beyond our control, circumstances which fell outside our sphere of influence.

“Once we were made aware that there was a problem, we did everything we could to try and ensure that the supporters were kept fully-informed of developments.

“Sadly – and despite our very best efforts – the flight had to be cancelled, leaving our supporters bitterly disappointed.”

All stranded supporters will recieve a full refund.
