The week ending 18th September 2005

We see this week start with UEFA cup pre-match build interviews, on the official everton website, with Yobo and Martin stating that they apologised for the performance against Pompey and would give a performance to remember away from home against Dinamo Bucharest.

Everton Reserves played against Newcastle Reserves, with James Beattie included in the starting XI but was substituted after 45 minutes. Li Tie scored the only goal of the game as it ended in a win for the blues but a re-occuring injury forces Beattie to pull out of the Bucharest game.

Some fans travelling to the European game where left stranded at John Lennon International as a scandinavian airline company goes bust. This was just the taster of things to come as Everton ended the first half of the UEFA Cup game 1-1. But in the first few minutes of the new half Everton conceded a disastrous goal, and then in the last 30 minutes Everton conceded 3 goals to end the match 5-1 to Dinamo Bucharest.

Beattie is again declared unfit in the preparation for the away game on the 19th of September at Highbury and it will be infact Everton's last ever appearance at the stadium.
