James McFadden Praised for Performances

McFadden received Man of the Match for Everton after the Wigan game as the plucky Scottish International took on the daunting task of playing the Toffee's only striker.

David Weir praised his fellow countryman after the match stating "James played really well and I feel sorry for him because he played his heart out, yet came away on the losing side."

"He didn't deserve that and it was very harsh on him.

"But it is good for him to play and it is good to see him doing so well. He could be the spark for us to get out of this run.

"You have seen him play for Scotland and he has scored goals against quality opposition.

"We'll look at the positives but take the negatives on board and we realise that we have got to do better."

Everton fans have seen a surge in appearances for the Scottish International in a blue shirt as the injuries take its toll for Moyes. It is now rumoured that the player has months left to prove he can make it in the league as Moyes scowers the country, and europe, for replacement strikers in the next transfer window although McFadden has managed to net 7 goals at international level in around 20 appearances.
