Beattie Road to Recovery

The striker has had a toe injury since the match against Manchester United at the start of the season but could make a comeback against Dinamo Bucharest, although at most it will be as a substitute.
“When I come back this time I want to have a run of games and start scoring and showing everybody what I can do.
“The gaffer brought me in to score goals and I have always said that is what I can do.
“One goal, or two or three could set it off and hopefully we can progress from there and not undo what we did last year.”
“To get injured in the first Premier League game of the season was a big blow but these things are sent to test and hopefully I will come back stronger,” he added.
Injury
“It is quite an unusual injury because the joint in my big toe
of my left foot got hyper-extended. I just couldn’t put any pressure
on my toe.
“I then tried to come back too early. I was a bad patient and I was trying to push myself and it put me back a couple of weeks.
“It was unfortunate because I thought I had a good pre-season, I scored a couple of goals.
“The injury is coming on nicely and hopefully I will be training either this week or next week.”
He continued: “Hopefully now we have got it to settle down and I will be back soon.
Short Up Front
David Moyes has quoted on the subject with
"We have been short of real competition all season up front.
"James has only started one game, and scored one goal, and that is what we are desperately short of at the moment. We will see how he is after a couple of days training but there is a possibility we may need him to sit on the substitute's bench."
