Lee Carsley's return at the end of September, or the beginning of October, has been thrown into doubt due to a re-occuring problem. David Moyes has revealed that the midfielder may require yet more surgery.
“Lee has still got a problem with his knee which may need surgery, we’re not too sure yet.
“I wouldn’t say it was a setback because all the recent talk of him being almost ready to return was incorrect.”
Carsley last made an appearance for the Blues on the final day of last season in the defeat at Bolton Wanderers.
Davies Injury
Further to the bad news on Carsley, Simon Davies is doubtful for
the Bucharest game with an ankle injury. Although Moyes is not
yet ruling him out completely. The injury occured during a recent
training match and, along with his shin splints, could rule
the midfielder out of action.
