Crouching Wright, Hidden Keeper!

Richard Wright has vowed to pounce on the opportunity, if one arises, to get first team action after Big Nige's heroic performances so far this season have left very few people acknowledging anyone else should defend our goal instead.

Richard Wright is on the bench this weekend against Spurs, last season he played in goal for us as we got a nice little trouncing by 5 goals to 2. And showing that he wants more of the same shows his grit determination.

"I am working as hard as always and waiting for an opportunity to come along. Playing reserve games help me to tick over and stay focused and in shape.

"A chance did come for me last season and it didn't go as well as I would have liked. I have to make sure that when I get a chance to step in again I am ready to take it as best I can and do better than last time.

"I want to play as often as I can and so getting two reserve games under my belt in the last week will help me because I want to keep on top of my game for if I am needed in the first team."

"The work we have been doing in training (in the last couple of weeks) has been good. Obviously, there has been a lot of players away on international duty which means it is a lot different and we won't really start focusing on the game itself until the players are back, hopefully with no injuries.

"But the spirit in training has been good. We have been mainly working on fitness levels and making sure we keep ourselves ticking over.

"Ideally you would want to get back out there straight away after losing a game but having the international break means some of the players have had the chance to recharge their batteries a little.

"If you look at last year we were going away and getting results in tight games. Now those games are going against us this year. We need to keep working hard to put it right to make that turning point happen."
