James Beattie got yet another slight injury yesterday in the reserve match against Sunderland. The striker got a dead leg in the first half but managed to carry on until the 67th minute when he was subbed.
However David Moyes has not ruled him out of the game on Sunday against Chelsea as he hopes it may have cleared up by the time the game comes round. Everyone will be hoping so as Evertonians are getting extremely fed up at the amount of injuries Beattie has picked up since arriving from Southampton in January for a club record 6m.
David Moyes has also ruled out a chance that Andy van der Meyde will make his debut on Sunday against the Champions. Van der Meyde made his debut in an Everton shirt last night and also played 67mins. But having not played football since June the van der Meyde is not seen to be sharp enough to make his first team debut.
Some good news is that Mikel Arteta will be available to play on Sunday having missd games against Manchester City and Spurs which will provide a much needed boost for the fans and David Moyes.
