BMW Sauber ends Barcelona tests with more problems

On the third and final day of testing at Barcelona, Nick Heidfeld und Robert Kubica completed 105 laps at the "Circuit de Catalunya". Both BMW Sauber F1 Team drivers mainly focused on testing the new standard ECU, that will be mandatory for 2008. .

13th – 15th November 2007 Day three – Thursday

Fastest lap overall: Heikki Kovalainen, ING Renault F1 Team, 1:20.659 min Circuit distance: 4.655 km

Robert Kubica Chassis / engine: BMW Sauber F1.07-06 / BMW P86/7 V8 Test kilometres today: 242 km (52 laps) Fastest lap: 1:22.706 min

Programme: For the third and final day of the first winter test the task list was basically the same as for the two previous days. Again, development work with the 2008 standard ECU was on the agenda, as well as testing new mechanical parts in preparation for the 2008 season. While the team lost some track time in Barcelona due to teething problems with new components, the positive conclusion is that it learned a lot in Spain.

What comes next: The next three days of winter testing are scheduled for December 4th to 6th in Jerez.
