Landzaat signs Latics 3 year deal

Latics have signed Dutch midfielder Denny Landzaat on a three year deal, taking the summer signings total to four

Landzaat scored 10 goals from midfield in the Eredivisie last season helping AZ Alkmaar to 2^nd spot behind PSV Eindhoven, and was thrilled about the deal: "I am really happy about coming to England,” said Landzaat.

 

“I have talked to a lot of my colleagues in the international team about Wigan and I know exactly what kind of club I am joining and what they have achieved over the past few years. I liked Paul Jewell when I met him and what he had to say about the game and the club and his plans for the future”.

 

Paul Jewell was also happy (and relieved) to land his man: "I think Denny is going to really take to the Premiership," he said, "I know he had a choice, which makes me even happier that we have got him. He is a midfielder with an eye for goal and is my type of player. He has pace, hunger and vision and plenty of international experience, playing for both Holland, at the top of the Dutch league and in the UEFA Cup."
