Wednesdays Waffle

I tried to do this one not under the influence and as I'd made a ricket the first couple of times what with missing paragraphs and repeating paragraghs but got writers block so I'm writing under the influence of Becks instead Tequila tonight.

First off Wigan beat Southport tonight 2-0 with goals from Kris King and a fortuotous, hmm lucky goal from Super Lee McCulloch. Wigan replaced Southport in the League a few years ago, just thought I'd throw that in. Also Stuart Barlow made his debut for Southport tonight.

Talking of ex players Peter Atherton has retired due to dodgy knees. Atherton aged about 72 played for Wigan years ago before going onto Sheffield Wednesday and Bradford.

Sir Bobby Martinez has signed for Chester. I always liked Bobby, the three Amigo who made the most impact in a Wigan shirt. Mind you I always Izzy Diaz as well. 3rd division football, under pressure, hoof the ball down the channels for Izzy to chase, ah those were the days.

Also Magno Silva Vieira has moved to Brentford. Best of luck to both of them, except if they have to play Wigan of course.

Paul Jewell is hopeful of an imminent signing at the moment. He's put in an offer on 2 players, one of whom he hopes will be signed by the weekend. Any ideas who?

Me neither but going from what I've seen I'd hazard a guess one is Luis Valencia and the other is Andy Webster. Mind you does putting in an offer mean to the players club or to the player. If it's to the club then that means there is another player involved unless the Jewellster has made an offer to Hearts for Webster trying to get round this new ruling.

Good to see PJ and Dave Whelan sticking to their valuation of Chimbonda. It seems to have scared Spurs off as they are apparently after Lucas Neill now. Where does that leave Chimbonda if they do go for Neill? PJ's just bought his replacement so it's looking like reserve football for Chimbonda. Aw bless.

Right, gotta try and work out how to post this now, third time lucky I suppose.
