Latics trial Barnsley Keeper Flinders

Wigan Athletic have taken Barnsley Keeper Scott Flinders on trial until this Thursday (16/03/2006).

The 19 year old broke into the Barnsley first team in March 2005, but has made just eight appearances for them this season.

Barnsley manager Andy Ritchie told the club website: "Scott will go and train with Wigan until Thursday.

"It is the same arrangement as when he went down to train with Chelsea earlier this season and now Wigan will have a have a closer at him this week."
