Pieroni - Fulop transfer gossip at Latics

Latics are reportedly looking at Auxerre’s Luigi Pieroni and Tottenham Hotspurs’ Marton Fulop.

Pieroni is a 25 year old Belgian forward who moved from from Mouscron in his homeland to Auxerre of France last season, and has been a regular goalscorer in Ligue 1 ever since.

 

Hertha Berlin have also expressed an interest in the international, but he has been quoted as saying: "I am convinced Auxerre is building something strong.

 

"Despite some departures we will remain competitive.

 

"I don't want to leave. I will fight to bring much more to Auxerre."

 

 

Fulop is a 23 year old Hungarian goalkeeper who has spent time on loan at Coventry City this season.

 

Coventry boss Micky Adams is keen to sign him on a permanent basis and has had an initial bid for the player rejected, but has gone back to Spurs with an improved offer.

 

Reports in Fulop's native Hungary however, suggest that Latics boss Paul Jewell has now made him his number one target after being linked with Hull City keeper Boaz Myhill and Hearts keeper Craig Gordon.
