Rumpus Over Emile Heskey/Camara Bid rejected

Birmingham City are threatening to report Wigan Athletic to the FA, and have accused Latics of making an illegal approach for striker Emile Heskey.

Birmingham officials wrote to Latics this week voicing their unhappiness at comments made by assistant manager Chris Hutchings, saying that Heskey was a target for them.

Owner David Sullivan last night insisted that he would not have his players unsettled by Premiership clubs in the wake of Birmingham's relegation and vowed that Heskey would not be sold on the cheap.

Blackburn and Portsmouth have also shown an interest in the former England striker.

Hutchings went public with Latics’ aim of signing Heskey next season, saying: "We are interested in Heskey but so are Blackburn Rovers and Portsmouth as well so it depends on how much the player wants,"

"We are not going to overpay in the market but if you don't do that, sometimes you might not get the players."

Birmingham co-owner David Sullivan was so incensed that City have warned Latics to keep quiet and say that they will be reported if they continue to make comments about the player.

 

Meanwhile, Latics have rejected a £3.75 Million bid for striker Henri Camara from Portsmouth.
