Tomasz Cywka Signs for Latics

18 year old Polish midfielder Tomasz Cywka has signed a three year deal with Wigan Athletic. Cywka agreed to join Latics in March following an impressive two-week trial, returning to his homeland to complete his education.

He jetted into the country on Tuesday to put pen to paper, but has already had to fly back to compete in the European Under-19 Championships, continuing his prolific record at under-age level.

 

Cywka has over 80 caps to his name for the Under-18s and Under-19s, and recently became the second youngest player in Poland’s history to be capped at Under-21 level.

 

Manager Paul Jewell had this to say about the highly rated youngster: “I am delighted Tomasz is a Wigan player at last.

 

"He has a real chance to make it in the game, I think he has all the attributes to become a very good player as he has a great touch, vision and pace.

 

"Now he needs to adapt to the English game and make all that potential come good."
