By Frank Stormont & CD
January 9 2009
Is it on or is it not, that is the question. There is a pitch inspection at 2pm on Friday by the RFU to see if there is any chance of the match being played on Saturday. Please come back to the website for updates on the messageboard. Callum is due to make his first start in an Albion shirt and James Owen should also be in the starting lineup!
This Weekend
v
Welsh v Albion
Saturday 10 January
K.O. 3 pm
and
Ladies v Trojans
Sun 2pm
Both matches subject to pitch inspection 24hrs before KO
A late decision will be made about the viability of the match with an RFU inspection at 2pm and the coach booked to leave at 3!
Changes to the line up for the proposed match have been released on the thisisplymouth website as follows.
Callum comes into the starting line up with Jannie moving to the bench. Another local prop has been seen at the club in training and it is unclear if he will take part with Jannie suffering from an injury.
James Owen comes back to the starting lineup after playing a full 80 minutes for the Warriors last Saturday.
Sean has been named in his international place at 8 with Kyle a possibility on the bench.
Colin is also a possibility on the bench after he also played 80 minutes but no place for Arran Cruickshanks. However Keni is named on the bench for the first time since his suspension.
Alex has not made it into the starting line up despite his good performance with the limited time he had on the pitch last week against Newbury.

When London Welsh visited Brickfields in September, Albion crowd was getting restless, it was the Fifth game of the season and Albion had Won two and lost two. The home crowd wanted to see another win, but instead they were to witness a ‘nail biting match’ that saw London Welsh Win by 25 to 24. This time Albion make the 200 mile trip to Richmond, to see if they can make it another close game.
For the travelling support, PLEASE NOTE KICK OFF IS AT 1400 (2PM) The travel club is running a minibus, please contact them for details if you want to go as there are still places (07837 530869). The entrance is via double iron gates half a mile down the road on your left. By Rail: Richmond mainline and tube station is just a short walk from the ground. When exiting the station, turn right and go straight across the large round-a-bout onto Kew Road. Keep walking for around 1/4 of a mile and the club is on the left LW average gate is 1192, so there will be a bit of company for Albion, although, try no to step on the cricket pitch (if you can!)’ Last week the LW played the Bedford Blues, LW had previously whitewashed Sedgley park by 60 to nil, so were hopeful against Bedford, it was down to the wire, but LW eventually won by 33 to 32 London welsh sit just below Albion in the table, by two point and they have a game in hand, so could easily give Albion a run for their money.
